We had a rather full and emotionally charged period and we didn't have time to say here what we are doing. But we leave you with the images of the most recent rescue: a mother cat who is about 7 months old and her kittens who turned one month old on Saint Mary's day.

It's a story with a carousel of emotions. The mother cat we named Alma had a problem with her right front leg, she wasn't stepping on it very well. She was a shy cat that came to eat in a neighbor's yard, after which she shyly ran away. Wanting to help her, after about two weeks the man caught her and that's how we ended up with her at the vet for investigations. We also spayed her, on which occasion we found out that she had recently given birth. We searched for the kittens to no avail, racking our brains for their fate. Exactly one week later, the same neighbor informed us that he had found some starving kittens. We thought it was another cat with kittens. But these kittens had no mother. It was hard for us to believe that they could have been Alma's, how can newborn kittens survive a week without their mother, but we hoped. We took them and gave Alma to smell them. They were weak, one didn't even have his eyes open, another had a leg that he was dragging. Alma's eyes widened and she started licking them instantly. Both the kittens and Alma suddenly calmed down. The kittens began to suckle, and Alma, although spayed and without kittens for a week, still had milk.
Alma has been with us for three weeks, the kittens for two. Between the first and second week of life the kittens were alone in the world and we don't know how they survived. They have gained weight, they are beautiful, friendly, lively, curious. They seem to have forgotten the torment they went through. The one with the little leg, whom we named Ares, is now walking on all legs after having a treatment with kisses, massage and caresses, treatment received from both Alma and us.
Being a large family, we doubled their "studio", now they have a great place to play and rest. Alma is still shy around us, but has been looking at us with gentleness and gratitude since the day we brought her kittens. They are hers, there is no doubt about it. Alma still has the problem with her leg and it looks like it needs to be amputated, but that's something to deal with after the kittens grow.

We will tell you more about them, the whole family will need adoption, ideally two in one adoptive family. Step by step.
